Job summary

CMHA-CEI is seeking a reliable janitor for facilities cleaning and basic maintenance in Lansing, Michigan. You will follow directions from the Head Custodian and Property & Facilities team to keep CMHA-CEI facilities clean and safe.

The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, operate floor scrubbers and vacuums, and possibly access reliable transportation for job-related use. Evening shifts are provided with incentives.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day janitorial tasks at CMHA-CEI facilities.
• Work under supervision of the Head Custodian and Facilities team.
• Ensure cleaning and minor maintenance align with policies and procedures.
• Support facilities operations as directed.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, takes day to day direction from the Head Custodian while performing Janitorial functions that include cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned/contracted facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be physically able to operate a variety of Janitorial equipment(floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.). May be required to have access to reliable means of transportation for job related use.

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance check. Must be able to pass pre-employment 5-panel drug screen. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.

Salary/Hours

$15.58-17.45 per hour. 40 hours per week. Mondays – Fridays 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM.Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm – 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am – 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm – Monday 8am.
