Job summary

CMHA-CEI in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a Property and Facilities Custodian to perform janitorial and light maintenance tasks at our Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties facilities. You will follow the supervision of the Head Custodian and ensure all cleaning duties support CMHA-CEI's mission and safety standards.

Work hours are 3:30 pm–12 am, with weekends required. Eligible candidates must lift up to 50 pounds, operate janitorial equipment, and have access to reliable transportation if needed.

• Must be able to operate janitorial equipment including floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, takes day to day direction from the Head Custodian while performing Janitorial functions that include cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned/contracted facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be physically able to operate a variety of Janitorial equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.). May be required to have access to reliable means of transportation for job related use.

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance check. Must be able to pass pre-employment 5-panel drug screen. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.

Salary/Hours

$15.58-17.45 per hour. 3:30pm to 12am; Weekends Required. Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm – 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am – 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm – Monday 8am.
