Job summary

Versant Media is seeking a Master Control Operator to support on-air operations across network and streaming platforms. You will monitor and adjust live broadcasts, ensuring reliability and seamless execution of events for news, entertainment and sports outlets.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of on-air broadcast experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in an on-air broadcast environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, 24x7 broadcast setting.
• Strong troubleshooting and processing skills.
• Attention to detail and foresight to prevent issues.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Effective teamwork and communication during live events.

Responsibilities

• Perform live master control duties, including managing playlists and program/advertising changes.
• Monitor continuity and availability for multiple networks (linear, streaming, VOD).
• Support live events by performing Technical Director, Commercial Integration, and Associate Director roles as needed.
• Receive and execute directions to ensure proper traffic integration of networks.
• Ingest and perform quality control on on-air content across platforms.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to maintain reliability and customer service.
• Maintain on-air schedules and respond to issues to uphold broadcast reliability.
