Job summary

Northeast Grocery is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

You will enter customer data, counsel patients, support pharmacy operations, and help achieve financial and operational goals while maintaining security of controlled substances.

Qualifications

• Must have a Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all applicable federal, state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, all supervised by the Pharmacist.
• Follow directions from the pharmacist on duty and pharmacy manager.
• Enter customer data into the computer, keep accurate records, complete all necessary paperwork relating to the pharmacy.
• Counsels patients and medical providers regarding the nature and use of drugs, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects.
• Fulfill general housekeeping duties.
• Achievement of financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense.
• Maintain security of all controlled substances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complies with all applicable federal, state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, all supervised by the Pharmacist.
• Follow directions from the pharmacist on duty and pharmacy manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have received a Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate from an accepted program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
