Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum in Bellwood, Virginia seeks a Production Supervisor to lead 12-hour shifts and ensure safe, on-time production. You will coordinate with planning, manage staffing, and drive continuous improvement in a high-output metal manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining 5S, addressing safety concerns, coaching staff, and communicating shift performance to leadership. A technical degree or comparable experience is required.

Qualifications

• A two-year technical degree is required or 3–5 years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Management knowledge is preferred.
• Proven ability to work in teams and communicate effectively.
• PC skills including Windows, Word and Excel; familiarity with manufacturing software.
• Be energetic, disciplined and focused on building an engaged, safe plant team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours/shift schedule; 80% plant environment exposure.

Responsibilities

• Safely execute the daily/weekly production schedule and coordinate with planning.
• Drive safety on shift; lead safety meetings and address incidents.
• Maintain a fully staffed shift; manage timekeeping and overtime as needed.
• Ensure policy adherence, attendance, break and lunch scheduling.
• Submit maintenance work requests and manage 5S housekeeping.
• Coach employees; address performance, conduct training and certifications.
• Resolve personnel issues in line with the contract and policies.
• Coordinate with neighboring shifts for coverage and overtime planning.
• Provide shift performance updates by email to managers and teams.
