Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a terminal setting.
• Strong organizational skills are absolutely demanded.
• Able to manage multiple projects with little direction.
• Must have strong negotiation skills.
• Proactive, energetic self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Able to work with customers, employees, and contractors.
• Experience with Maximo or similar asset management systems.
• Experience budgeting or managing spend.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety training program of all personnel.
• Effectively communicate with rail, trucking, and vessel companies to ensure operations.
• Train subordinates in bulk material handling.
• Manage unloading of lake and ocean vessels.
• Interpret policies and enforce safety regulations.
• Understand environmental regulations.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Motivate workers to achieve goals.
• Schedule union employees.
• Be available to work any shift in a 24/7 operation.
• Cover vacations and alternate shifts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
