Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a Security Operations Center professional to provide 24/7 communications, command, and control support. You will oversee access control, alarm monitoring, and incident management, directing a team during shifts and ensuring accurate incident documentation.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in similar centers and strong MS Office skills, with an emphasis on clear communication under pressure and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a command center, control center, operations center or emergency dispatch environment.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Strong personal computing skills including Microsoft Office; familiarity with databases and networks.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate clearly under stressful conditions.
• Shift work; rotating shifts every 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SOC systems and troubleshoot before escalation.
• Test alarm and access control devices with security specialists.
• Ensure NERC CIP compliance for access control.
• Coordinate cyber incident reporting and business continuity.
• Manage employee/contractor badges and access authorization.
• Document technical problems and security incidents.
• Administer contractor workforce database.
• Handle customer service calls or escalate as needed.
• Act as a command and control liaison during incidents.
• Contribute to internal policies and train new staff.
