Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk in Black Hawk, Colorado is seeking a Cook I to join our culinary team. You will apply various cooking methods to meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods, prepare prep lists, and maintain sanitary practices in a fast-paced resort kitchen.

• Lift heavy items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Multi-task and maintain general knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, know the menu, and follow recipes to produce consistent, quality products.
• Breakdown and clean equipment; bring personal knives on the first day.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Use excellent memory skills to prepare multiple dishes simultaneously, and accurately distinguish flavors and food quality.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food; regulate cooking equipment temperatures and assist other cooks during busy periods.
• Perform all kitchen duties including preparation, cooking, and cleaning, and follow recipes and procedures with minimal direction.
