Job summary

Under supervision during training and with limited supervision thereafter, you will operate a multi-channel radio console and a multi-line telephone while maintaining CAD and other computer systems.

Qualifications

• Reads maps and interprets locations for dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Answer, evaluate, and prioritize calls to determine dispatch urgency for police, fire, or medical response.
• Maintain radio and CAD communications with field units and other agencies.
• Enter, update, and query information across multiple systems and databases.
• Interpret maps and locate geographical areas to support dispatch decisions.
• Provide back-up coverage for call-takers and assist the public as needed.
