Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County seeks an IT Technician lead for the Office of Emergency Management. This role ensures 24-hour operational readiness, acts as the liaison to Metro ITS, troubleshoots hardware and network issues, and supports ITS setup during emergencies and events.

The position involves designing programs, installing equipment, configuring software, supporting budget processes, and maintaining IT inventory. Overnight or weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or the equivalent to 5+ years in systems development, computer operations, technical support, network support, IT systems analysis, with multiple professional certificates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 24-hour operational readiness for OEM ITS needs across multiple sites.
• Install, configure, and upgrade computers, printers, servers, and software.
• Gathers information from customers regarding information systems needs and problems; provide on-site support as needed.
• Oversee ITS needs for new projects, facility needs, or renovations; manage budgets and quotes.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in EOC activation when required; train staff as needed.
