Job summary

Paramount Pictures in New York is seeking a seasoned WGA Line Producer for CBS News Streaming to join a 24/7 news team. You will line-produce live coverage, shape rundowns and coordinate with desks, anchors and control room in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires exceptional news judgment, strong organizational skills, and fluency with ENPS. In-person work at the CBS Broadcast Center is required, with opportunities across shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience producing and writing copy for national broadcast or equivalent local TV news in a major market.
• Command of AP style and broadcast writing with impeccable grammar and spelling.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments for regular programming and breaking news.
• Superior news judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in journalism or related field.
• Fluency using ENPS is a must.
• Must pass CBS News Digital writing test.
• Must be available to work all shifts—early morning, dayside, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the executive producer and supervising producer in a fast-paced environment, handling breaking news and daily demands for a 24-hour digital news channel.
• Line-produce editorial news content, shape show flow and stack elements in the rundown.
• Guide shows from control room in and out of breaks for live and recorded content and future-hours planning.
• Coordinate with assignment desk and booking team to request correspondents and live interview guests.
• Order informative graphics and use video to create engaging news programs.
• Direct a team of writers, associate producers and digital staff to build original content and repurpose material.
• Write teases, headlines, opening packages and readers for live programming.
• Generate story ideas for future coverage and swap content for automated systems.
• Monitor live events and determine what to air, communicating with anchors and control room.
• Mentor junior writers and coordinate with sales on ad loads in rundowns.
