Job summary

Stripe’s Incident Ops team seeks an experienced Incident Response Manager (IRM) to drive rapid, well-coordinated responses to outages and security events. You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, Policy and Execs to minimize user disruption and orchestrate RCA processes.

You’ll operate as on-call Incident Commander, lead cross-functional incident resolution, and help scale our 24/7 coverage while improving processes and tooling across the org.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of major incident experience for mission-critical SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple incidents concurrently with authority and influence responders.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Understanding of application development, architectures, and cloud environments.
• Experience with data analysis using SQL, Splunk or other tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as an on-call Incident Commander, driving incident resolution with urgency and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead all user-facing incidents across domains including reliability, security, and data privacy.
• Provide accurate situation reports and external communications to users during incidents.
• Update internal stakeholders and influence decisions with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and post-mortems to identify remediations.
• Drive improvements in incident handling processes and tooling based on data trends.
• Contribute to team culture through participation in processes and forums.
