Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Facilities Monitoring and Response Specialist I to provide 24/7 monitoring and support of campus systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and emergency power.

The role includes inspections, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency response, with coordination of vendors and campus personnel. Essential positions may require after-hours responses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
• Third Grade Stationary Engineer License is required.
• Basic knowledge of water delivery systems, boilers, HVAC, electrical controls, and safety equipment is expected.

Responsibilities

• Monitor campus facilities systems 24/7 and respond to critical issues.
• Assist lead personnel with operation and control of building systems including HVAC and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and campus staff on service requests and maintenance tasks.
• Enter and complete assigned work orders in the CMMS system following policies.
