Werner Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Safety Specialist to manage all safety functions and ensure compliance with Company, Federal, State, and local regulations. You will address driver safety needs efficiently, provide 24/7 on-call support, and conduct training, evaluations, and accident reviews.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations (DOT, federal/state).
• Experience delivering driver safety training and evaluating skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities; customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all Safety Department training courses, including simulator training.
• Perform safety functions such as accident reviews and remedial training.
• Administer drug and Breath Alcohol Tests (BAT).
• Provide 24-hour on-call safety support as needed.
• Counsel drivers on DOT and company policy violations.
• Conduct road tests and driver evaluations for compliance.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and related duties.
