Job summary

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years in IT or Cybersecurity with supervisory experience; preferred background includes FERPA-regulated environments and government-adjacent experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; three years related experience including one year supervisory experience.
• Experience in IT/Cybersecurity Operations, with incident handling and risk-based remediation.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership for the Security Operations team and ensure 24/7 readiness.
• Oversee daily security monitoring, response, and incident containment efforts.
• Lead Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) and root-cause analysis for improvements.
• Manage the security stack (EDR, IAM, SIEM) and vendor relationships to ensure telemetry integration.
• Establish and track KPIs (MTTD/MTTR) and brief leadership on threat trends.
• Stay current on emerging threats and regulatory impacts to guide defenses.
