Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Control Room Alarm Response Technician for our client site in Groton, CT. This role delivers critical 24/7 technical support for alarm conditions and operational issues across Pfizer Groton, operating on 12‑hour shifts with four rotating teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in boilers, turbines, BMS, and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on rapid triage, safety, and regulatory compliance. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six years of facility maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of CMMS such as MAXIMO, EAMS or equivalent database systems.
• Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and fit test.
• Ability to obtain security access badge.
• Proficient with Windows/Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alarm conditions site-wide, including central chiller plant and BMS/utility systems.
• Provide on-site immediate response to minimize downtime and enable rapid triage and repairs.
• Perform facility rounds and data collection, identifying issues before they impact reliability.
• Make equipment rounds, record data, and correct deviations based on readings.
• Ensure BMS space conditions meet scientific requirements and regulatory standards.
• Review daily shutdown plans to stay 100% prepared.
• Operate and line up utilities distribution (chilled water, nitrogen, steam, air, lab waste).
• Perform preventive maintenance under the Operator Care Program during nights/weekends.
• Support Good Catch Program by identifying and mitigating risks.
• Collaborate with CROs and trades to provide timely notifications and updates.
• Perform minor repairs and notify for deeper repairs as needed.
• Provide Do-It-Now technical support across mechanical, instrumentation, and BMS systems.
