Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Central Supply Technician to manage medical supplies, inventory, and distribution to support resident care and facility operations in a long-term care setting. You will maintain par levels, restock, and coordinate purchasing.

This role requires accurate typing (40 wpm), computer literacy, and fluency in English. CNA or CMA credentials are a plus, with prior central supply experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of central supply experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) preferred.
• Accurate typing skills of 40 words per minute or greater.
• Computer literacy required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established inventory and par levels of medical supplies necessary to support patient and resident care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient central supply area.
• Ensure essential supplies are available 24 hours a day, including weekends, and maintain supply availability within medication rooms and designated clinical areas.
• Perform routine inventory reviews and restock supplies as needed based on utilization.
• Order medical supplies according to established schedules while supporting cost-effective purchasing practices.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment required for new admissions.
• Maintain inventory levels of over-the-counter medications based on facility utilization patterns.
• Obtain over-the-counter medications for new admissions when ordered and not available within inventory.
• Collaborate with facility leadership to monitor supply expenditures and complete budget control documentation, including vendor and purchasing records.
• Support compliance with Abuse Prevention policies, Patient Care Management Systems requirements, and facility operational standards.
• Promote patient and resident safety and perform other duties as assigned.
