Job summary

WinCo Foods is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant for our 24/7 retail locations. You will help customers at check stands, SCO lanes, or the service desk with friendly, efficient service while processing transactions accurately.

You’ll handle cash and payments, maintain knowledge of PLU codes and product locations, keep the checkout area tidy, and support safety policies and regulatory requirements. Flexibility with shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Friendly, courteous, and tactful with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to communicate and perform customer relations tasks.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to learn and memorize PLU codes and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and serves customers; operates check stand, SCO, or service desk.
• Processes monetary transactions and handles cash, checks, coupons, food stamps, and refunds.
• Maintains knowledge of product locations and pricing; ensures accurate scanning.
• Keeps checkout areas clean, stocked, and safe; supports safety policies.
• May be assigned to SCO lane or customer service counter as needed.
• Follows state and federal laws for sale of restricted items (e.g., tobacco, alcohol) and adheres to related procedures.
