Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Minneapolis VA Health Care System, seeks a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage for all facilities engineering systems.

The role involves boiler, cooling tower, and hydronic system upkeep, with emphasis on safety and rapid response during emergencies. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper chemical balance for cooling towers, hydronic heating systems, chilled water loops, and low pressure boilers.
• Determine malfunction of chemical injection systems and repair to restore operation.
• Conduct boiler maintenance and repairs to meet yearly inspection requirements.
• Monitor building automation system control points and troubleshoot as needed.
• Adjust, clean, repair, or replace thermostats and sensors in building systems.
• Check fire alarm panels during alarms and perform minor troubleshooting and repairs.
