Shipping Lead

JBS is seeking an hourly Shipping Lead Team Member! Position starts at $22.50 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Overseeing a team of employees to achieve business results.
2. Achieves warehouse targets in a safe and efficient manner.
3. Coordinates warehouse activities with procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results.
4. Supports warehouse personnel by maintaining a visible presence on the warehouse floor.
5. Maintains an engaged and team-oriented workforce.
6. Ensures plant Safety, GMP, and SQF programs are followed.

2. Provides Support to Company Policies and Procedures

1. Creates an environment that expresses concern and consistency toward all team members.
2. Promotes cooperation and dedication to superior workmanship among all team members.
3. Provides training for team members on company policies, rules, regulations, and job-specific duties and responsibilities.
4. Monitors and enforces adherence to GMPs and specifications. Maintains high levels of sanitation, housekeeping, and product quality.
5. Follows daily work schedule and reports variances.
6. Encourages best use of energy and resources with minimal waste.

3. Ensures company policies and standards compliance

1. Regularly reviews all company policies and standards to ensure compliance.
2. Ensures that the warehouse and all work areas are properly maintained for a clean and safe working environment and that all plant safety policies are followed.
3. Reports any incidents or safety issues immediately.
4. Participates in determining the root causes of incidents.
5. Stays up-to-date on all safety policies, OSHA, and other standards.
6. Notifies maintenance of equipment issues.

4. Serves as a warehouse function lead

1. Trains and provides work direction to team members; prioritizes work assignments.
2. Oversees shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies, materials, and products.
3. Participates in receiving, unloading, and inspecting shipments for damage and conformity.
4. Oversees stocking of products and plans storage locations.
5. Delivers supplies and equipment as needed.
6. Oversees annual physical inventories.
7. Operates warehouse equipment and software.
8. Maintains a clean, orderly, safe warehouse environment.
9. Recommends improvements in storage and efficiency.

5. Ensures E21 procedures are followed

1. Scans work order barcodes into Bizerba.
2. Creates/destroys license plates, moves products, and confirms shipments.
3. Reconciles staging locations and makes corrections as needed.

6. Acts as E21 liaison with IT Support

1. Reports procedure deviations.
2. Becomes subject matter expert for E21 procedures.
3. Troubleshoots issues on the floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• SQF, GMP, and HACCP certifications
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely
• Supervisory experience in a plant setting
• Warehouse process experience
• Inventory management knowledge
• WMS and barcode scanner experience
• Leadership and motivational skills

• English proficiency; bilingual in Spanish preferred

Work Environment

Activities include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and crouching.

Must hear normal conversations and receive information.

Physical strength required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work in cold, damp environment at 34°F for long hours.
