Position: 21st Century Program Academic Enrichment Teacher

Location: Amherst Street Elementary School (High-Needs School)

Work Year: Part-time, 2025‑2026 School Year

Salary Range: $35.00 per hour

Program Length: 3 hours afternoon, Monday‑Friday (2:30‑5:30pm)

Qualifications

• Teacher certification in Elementary Education is required.
• Previous experience working with elementary aged students is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Growth mindset, proactive problem solving, teamwork, innovative thinking, creativity, patience, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• The 21st Century Extended Day Program mission is to nurture intellectual curiosity and reinforce self‑confidence in our students through goal‑oriented, project‑based learning that builds practical skills and develops character.
• The Academic Enrichment Teacher develops and teaches classes with a strong academic component that demonstrates a link to school‑day learning.
• Using the Nashua School District Curriculum, the Teacher provides students with support with their homework to help them meet grade‑level expectations.
• Applies effective differentiation strategies, engages students positively, professionally, showing respect with students and parents, expects learners to succeed, and actively engages them in lessons planned around grade‑level expectations to enhance critical thinking skills.
