Job summary

StepStone Venture Capital is seeking a Summer Analyst to support the investment team in analyzing and researching fund and direct investments. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, data-driven research projects, and weekly calls with the partnership.

Qualifications

• Graduate by December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• GPA of 3.2 or above.
• Desire to join Global Private Markets investments platform after graduation.
• High proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Demonstrated track record of academic success.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong, demonstrable analytical capabilities, including quantitative/modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative analysis, including company, manager and performance modeling and valuation.
• Conduct company, manager and industry research.
• Participate in due diligence calls with company management teams and General Partners.
• Assist in all aspects of the transaction, whether fund, direct or secondary.
• Communicate investment recommendations through written work, including one-page summaries and memorandums.
• Develop and maintain proprietary transaction and market intelligence.
• Perform investment monitoring analysis in support of the investment team.
• Perform other ad hoc projects that reflect the broader needs of the Firm.

The Team

We actively invest in venture capital partnerships, expansion stage venture/growth equity direct investments and secondary market positions through our fund products.

Role Profile

Summer Analysts will be responsible for supporting the activities of the investment team in analyzing, monitoring and researching both potential and existing fund and direct investments. Education is also a significant component of the program, as Summer Analysts will gain insight into the broader venture capital ecosystem through data-driven research projects, hands-on learning with the investment team and participation in weekly calls with the broader partnership.

Salary: $70,000 / year

The salary is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
