Job summary

Axon is seeking an Embedded Engineer Intern in a hybrid Boston or Seattle setting. You will own and drive end-to-end features with Product and Design while collaborating with mentors and veteran engineers.

You’ll gain exposure to modern open source technologies, participate in code reviews, and present ideas to leadership as part of your 12-week program. The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and hands-on impact, with regular 1:1s with a mentor and structured career guidance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing graduation in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in at least one OO language (Java, Python, Scala, Go, C#).
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of software engineering and open source technologies.

Your Impact

As a Embedded Engineer Intern, you have foundational computer science knowledge and a strong command of one or more object-oriented programming languages. Your passion is software engineering and coming up with innovative solutions for customer problems. You will grow rapidly by driving high impact features to production with coaching from your veteran teammates.

This role will enable you to elevate your skills to the next level. As an intern, you will have regular 1:1s with your mentor, an experienced engineer on your team. You will get career advice through regular meetings with your manager, who is accountable for developing the careers of their reports. As part of your internship, you’ll get visibility by presenting your ideas, vision, and accomplishments to executive leadership.

What You Bring

• Pursuing graduation in a Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field at a community college, university, or bootcamp


• Experience in at least one object-oriented language such as Java, Python, Scala, Go, C#, or similar


• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Work Location

This role is based out of our Boston or Seattle office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. The starting hourly pay for this role is USD $45. The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
