Job summary

Everest Global Services, Inc. invites driven undergrad students to join the 2027 Underwriter Summer Internship Program in a hybrid role based in Warren, NJ.

You will gain exposure to Property & Casualty Reinsurance through hands-on underwriting tasks and broker interactions, during a 10-week session from June to August. You will develop analytical and collaboration skills while attending leader-led workshops, with the goal of preparing you for Everest’s Rotational Development Program after

Qualifications

• Must be a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
• Leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities or campus clubs.

Responsibilities

• Support casualty and property teams in day-to-day underwriting processes and meet brokers as part of the internship.
• Assist in pre-qualification of deals and provide summaries to underwriting for submission flow.
• Classify all submissions for reporting and data analytics; shadow underwriters and perform information gathering.
• Monitor rate change reports and account tracking reports; engage in development workshops and networking events.

2027 Underwriter Summer Internship Program

This is a hybrid position: 3 days in the office, 2 days working remotely.

Join the Everest 2027 Summer Internship Program! This is an exciting opportunity to receive exposure to the world of Property & Casualty Reinsurance and Insurance through dynamic training, firsthand business experience, and networking with the industry’s leading experts and experienced professionals. Throughout the Program, you can expect to build upon the academic foundations you have established at school and apply your learning to real world scenarios.

The Program will run for 10 weeks: June 1, 2027 - August 6, 2027.

Your Impact & Opportunity

• As an Intern, you will be placed in one of our dynamic lines of business within Insurance or Reinsurance
• You will support our casualty and property teams in the day-to‑day underwriting process as well as meet with brokers as part of the overall internship.
• Collaborate on the pre‑qualification of deals and provide summaries to the underwriting team for submission flow.
• Assist in classifying all submissions received, quoted, declined etc. from our tracker for reporting and data analytics.
• Shadow underwriters – Information gathering and exposure analysis.
• Monitor rate change reports and similar account tracking reports.
• Grow and develop while participating in a variety of leader led, professional and personal development workshops, networking events, and the like.

What You Bring

• You are a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and collaboration skills
• Leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities, campus clubs/organizations, your community, etc.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and priorities

Everest does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite permanent US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration.

The salary for this position is $800 - $1,000 per week.
