Job summary

Truist is offering a TAS Summer Internship within the TAS Early Talent Program. Teammates will be embedded in an audit portfolio learning foundations of internal audit and Truist’s process, with exposure to seasoned professionals and development programs to build financial services skills.

The internship emphasizes collaboration, training, and networking across levels, with opportunities to learn technology-based audit tools and gain practical experience in internal auditing.

Qualifications

• Scheduled graduation of your final degree by December 2027 – June 2029.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting, mathematics, business, risk management or related field.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentations in hybrid/in-person settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Learn the function’s purpose and Truist’s audit process.
• Work under the direction of a TAS teammate to perform assigned audit work.
• Receive ongoing performance coaching and feedback to develop professional skills.
• Learn and utilize technology-based audit tools to complete assignments.
• Participate in training and meetings to build business acumen and learn banking/auditing objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop a basic understanding of internal audit by learning:
• The function’s purpose and Truist’s audit process.
• Risk management, risk monitoring and internal controls.
• About Truist’s business units and their purposes.
• Work under the direction of a TAS teammate to perform assigned audit and advisory work.
• Welcome and receive ongoing performance coaching and feedback to develop professional skills.
• Learn and utilize technology-based audit tools to complete assignments.
• Participate in all assigned training/development opportunities and meetings to build business acumen and learn about banking and financial services processes and auditing objectives.
• Network with leaders and teammates to form lasting professional connections.

Required Qualifications:

• Scheduled graduation of your final degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) by December 2027 – June 2029
• Working toward the completion of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting, mathematics, business, risk management or related field or equivalent education and related training at an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interested in pursuing a career in internal audit and/or financial services
• Experience in customer- or client-facing positions
• Familiarity with manipulating data and data storytelling
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Previous coursework in internal audit, risk management or related topics

The starting hourly wage for this position is $30.00.

General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation:

All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
