This position will be located at our Mission Systems sector in Rolling Meadows, IL.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) Division. The systems that they design, build, integrate and test are created with the dynamics of present and future operational stakes in mind.Roles and ResponsibilitiesYou’ll Have an Opportunity to:Create and refine Model Based System Engineering productsTrace requirements to test plans/procedures/results to track program progress and identify any gaps or inconsistencies.Update and maintain system drawings and documentsEvaluate complex electronics systems from hardware/software design through aircraft installationExecute integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs)Analyze and Model data in support of algorithm development and optimizationBasic QualificationsA candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical EngineeringBe available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)Preferred Qualifications:A current/active U.S. Government Secret clearanceIt will be helpful, though not required, for your course work to have included:Modeling Simulation: GitHub, Digital System Model (DSM), Simulation Development, and/orSystem Design: DOORS, ClearCase/ClearQuest, MATLAB, Python, Digital signal processing, Sensors, RF, RF Chain Analysis, HFSS, ANSYS, Optics, and/orIntegration & Testing: MATLAB, Python, JIRA, Cortex, JAVA, CUDA, Hardware Troubleshooting (Oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers), and/orMission Modeling: CAMEO, AFSIM, OpenCL, SysML, Model Based Engineering (MBE) concepts and tools, Rhapsody, Agile development, Optics, EO/IRIntern Pay Range:Bachelor’s: $20.50 to $37.25 per hourMaster’s: $29.00 to $45.50 per hourAt Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.campusjobsPrimary Level Salary Range: $20.50 - $37.25The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
