Responsibilities

• Build prototypes based on input from non-technical partners.
• Assist in energizing toy concepts with animation and personality.
• Assist in creating end-to-end electronics from schematics to firmware services.
• Work cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Design, Packaging and Operations.
• Provide hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits.

Mattel is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Summer Intern for our El Segundo, CA office. Our internship program is driven by a single focus: to find our future leaders. What Your Impact Will Be:

• Build prototypes based on input from non-technical partners
• Assist in energizing toy concepts with animation and personality
• Assist in creating the end-to-end electronics; from electrical schematics to firmware services
• Work cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Design, Packaging and Operations
• Provide hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits.

*Hourly pay will be $26.00/hour

What We're Looking For:

• Be currently enrolled in an accredited university as a rising senior, graduating in 2028
• Majoring in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study
• Self-starter, self-motivating, self- directing, and self-managing and a strong team player
• Project management skills; the ability to lead, multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
• Experience in product development within the toy industry
• Experience with China-based vendors
• Familiar with plastics
• Familiarity with any of the following: ARM, C, C++, Embedded Systems, or Audio/ Visual Assets
• Experience with electromechanical systems
• Proficiency with software development for embedded systems both with Assembly code and higher-level language a must
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Design, Project Management, and Packaging, etc.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems is highly desirable.
• The vision and perseverance to take ideas from concept through development and into production.
• Ability to build prototypes based on input from non-technical partners
• Experience in mechatronic / animatronic system design
