Job summary

Leonardo DRS is offering a paid internship in the Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) unit, located in Dallas, TX. The program runs 12–14 weeks on a 9/80 schedule, with first shift and onsite work only.

As an intern you will collaborate with experienced engineers, participate in projects from start to finish, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic defense industry environment.

Qualifications

  • Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate Engineering degree (Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or CS).
  • Coding experience is a plus (Java, C#, Python, VB, etc.).
  • Have completed at least 2 years of college and be a Junior or Senior with a 3.0 GPA or better.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Audit processes and perform experiments in a Class 100 cleanroom or lab.
  • Update documentation and present to Change Control Board.
  • Perform inspections with lab microscope and handle flammable, corrosive, caustic chemicals safely.
  • Compile, analyze, and present data.

Job Responsibilities
  • Audit processes and perform experiments as directed in a Class 100 cleanroom or lab
  • Update documentation and present to Change Control Board
  • Perform inspections with laboratory microscope and safely work with flammable, corrosive, and caustic chemicals
  • Compile, analyze, and present data
  • Perform entry-level professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
  • Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction
  • Type and word-process draft documents and electronic information
  • Prepare routine reports with guidance
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
  • Assist in arranging meetings, conferences, and project team activities
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • Must be actively enrolled in a 4-years undergraduate Engineering degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or CS

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
