Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Melbourne, FL is seeking a 2027 Summer Manufacturing Engineering Intern to collaborate with engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line. This onsite, hourly internship runs 12–14 weeks and offers hands-on experience in a supportive, teamwork-driven environment.

You will work with experienced engineers on projects from start to finish, gaining practical industry exposure and growth opportunities in a dynamic defense technology setting.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers.
• Compete assigned tasks on time.
• Gather and assemble data for engineers.
• Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers.
• Assist engineers with appropriate design details.
• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices.
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
