Leonardo DRS's Electro Optical Infrared Systems division in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Safety & Reliability Engineering Intern for a 12-14 week, onsite, 9/80 schedule. The paid internship offers hands-on experience, collaborating with experienced engineers on imaging and testing activities in lab and field settings.

You'll assist in documenting requirements and test results, support process improvements, and gain exposure to Matlab tools while developing communication and teamwork skills; U.S.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate Engineering Program.
• Completed at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or better.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems using curiosity.
• Available to work full-time onsite (40 hours/week).
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
• Perform testing activities in an engineering lab environment and/ or outdoor field testing
• Conduct imaging analysis under the supervision of engineers
• Provide regular reporting of progress and status
• Complete assigned tasks on time
• Documentation of requirements, verification plans and test results
• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Assist in the development of plant layouts, manufacturing methods and process improvements
• May coordinate maintenance projects

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate Engineering Program
• Have completed at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or better.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems using your natural curiosity.
• Work effectively as a member of a team or on individual tasks.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) onsite
• U.S. Citizenship status is required
