Job summary

BETA Group, Inc. is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Engineering in Hartford, CT, with flexibility to work from other offices.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, support multiple projects through design and construction phases, and learn from experienced engineers, planners and scientists. Preferred candidates are enrolled in civil or environmental engineering programs, can collect field data, and are eager to learn and contribute.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Understanding of general engineering theory and concepts.
• Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections.
• Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow).
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
