PACCAR's Peterbilt Motors Company seeks a Mechanical Engineering intern for the Air Systems Development team in Denton, TX. You will develop complex designs, perform analyses, and create CAD drawings using Windchill and Creo, while applying GD&T and FEA techniques.

Collaboration with PACCAR groups and suppliers is essential for project success. The internship combines hands-on engineering work with mentoring, exposure to DFSS processes, and opportunities to contribute to vehicle chassis

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related program.
• Strong MS Office, verbal and written communication, multitasking, self-starting, and professionalism.
• Analytical thinker with interest in testing, data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis using Windchill and Creo; create CAD models and drawings.
• Apply GD&T, FEA, and DFSS concepts; support DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Coordinate with PACCAR groups and suppliers; prepare status reports.
• Identify production, quality, and process issues and coordinate resolutions.

Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has aninternship for students currently enrolled in college. This opening is for a Mechanical Engineer Internto add to our Air Systems Development team in Denton, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limitedto:

• Identify and initiate designs of a complex nature and conduct necessary research incidental to design.
• Complete design projects through the processes of planning, concept development, calculation and design analysis, packaging studies, design, testing, implementation, and evaluation.
• Use knowledge and skills in Windchill and Creo to create CAD models and drawings.
• Apply knowledge of stress analysis and FEA.
• Apply knowledge of various materials and manufacturing processes for components used in vehicle chassis.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Develop and support FMEA, DVP&R, and other aspects of DFSS.
• Support sourcing process and manage supplier activities related to design and manufacture of components.
• Coordinate and complete projects and design efforts with other engineering groups, departments, and divisions within the company, such as PACCAR Technical Center, DAF, Kenworth, and the PACCAR Engine Company.
• Prepare engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed.
• Identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of production, production control, and quality assurance issues as appropriate using a proactive approach.

Required Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, or a related program.
