Job summary

RTX Corporation seeks a student intern in Electrical/Computer Engineering for on-site collaboration in El Segundo, CA. You will work with cross-functional teams, assisting with end-to-end systems engineering, I&T, and documentation under senior mentorship.

You must be pursuing a Bachelor's or higher in STEM and be enrolled through internship; preferred: prior RTX internship, Python experience, and familiarity with test equipment. This role emphasizes growth and hands-on learning.

What You Will Do:

• Engage in Onsite Project Collaboration: Work directly on-site alongside cross-functional project teams to deliver systems engineering solutions and support active development milestones.
• Receive Senior Technical Mentorship: Partner closely with and take technical direction from assigned Senior Engineers, actively incorporating feedback, guidance, and best practices into daily engineering tasks.
• Support Full Lifecycle Systems Engineering: Assist with engineering tasks spanning the end-to-end development lifecycle, including initial systems design, hands-on integration and test (I&T), and comprehensive product documentation.
• Drive Continuous Professional Development: Participate actively in design reviews, technical discussions, and lab verification sessions, demonstrating an open, learning-oriented mindset.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
• Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs) and signal generators for circuit characterization, debugging and validation.
• Experience developing software, such as utilizing Python.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Role Definition:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
