General Motors in Warren, MI invites an SQE Intern to bridge GM purchasing, product engineering, and manufacturing with the supplier base. You’ll help resolve quality issues and support advanced quality planning throughout the lifecycle of a commodity.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to APQP/PPAP, PFMEA reviews, root cause analysis, on-site supplier visits, and Run at Rate processes, all within a hybrid work setup.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Intern, you will be the technical liaison between GM purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, and our supply base. You will also work with the suppliers to resolve supplier manufacturing and quality issues, implement and monitor advanced quality planning systems, and provide technical support throughout the lifecycle of a particular commodity, including warranty. Role responsibilities include:
Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials/Metallurgical Engineering, Quality Engineering/Management, or related technical discipline
Must be graduating between December 2027 and June 2029
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2027 Student Program.
