Job summary

ICF, a global advisory and technology services provider, is seeking a Sales Intern to support the Business Development and Capture team within the Energy, Environment and Infrastructure group. The 10-week, full-time internship runs June–August with a hybrid option in Reston, VA or Arlington, VA, paying $23/hour.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn federal/state funding processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 30 college-level credits in public policy, writing, government, business or related field.
• Interest in government contracting, consulting, environmental studies, energy, disaster recovery, or resilience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Meeting support: take notes and distribute summaries/action items.
• Draft and design pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and client materials.
• Create and update marketing and sales content including website and social posts.
• Research potential government/private sector targets and procurement forecasts.
• Maintain CRM entries and update pursuit status reports.
• Collaborate with leads, proposal managers, and technical experts to align messaging.
• Assist in creating and maintaining documents for presentations.
• Support special projects for the division

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Intern to support our Business Development and Capture team. This role offers hands-on experience in government consulting, proposal development, and sales strategy ICF's Energy, Environment and Infrastructure group. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn how large-scale federal and state-funded programs are pursued and won.

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship expected to begin in June and end in August. The internship can hybrid from Reston, VA or Arlington, VA. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour. At this time, we are unable to provide housing nor relocation assistance for this position.

Responsibilities:

• - Meeting Support: Take detailed notes during internal and client-facing meetings; distribute accurate and timely summaries/action items to relevant stakeholders.
• - Sales Materials: Assist in drafting and designing pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and other client-facing materials.
• - Content Creation: Develop and update marketing and sales content, including website and social media posts, success stories, and capability statements.
• - Research & Analysis: Conduct research on potential government and private sector targets, funding opportunities, and procurement forecasts.
  - Monitor competitors’ activities, market positioning, and program performance.
• - Pipeline Support: Help maintain CRM entries, track leads, and update pursuit status reports.
• - Collaboration: Work closely with business development leads, proposal managers, and technical experts to align messaging and strategy.
• - Assist in the creation and maintenance of various documents and materials for presentations
• - Special projects that support the division needs

Basic Qualifications:

• - By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours in public policy, writing, government, business or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Interest in government contracting, consulting, environmental studies, energy, disaster recovery, or resilience preferred.
• - Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :
$37,855.00 - $64,354.00
