Job summary

Alexion Pharmaceuticals in New Haven, CT is offering an internship focused on GenAI adoption and digital collaboration. You will develop templates, collect feedback, and create a prompt starter pack using Alexion-approved tools. You will document test results and present findings to MW Ops and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a PhD candidate in a related field, fluency in English, and US work authorization. On-site presence in New Haven is required and relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in a PhD program in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
• Experience with GenAI tools and prompt development is required; interns will use Alexion-approved AI tools.
• Experience with Microsoft programs including Copilot, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Loop is required; familiarity with Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint is desirable.
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Ability to organize and analyze project information, user feedback, process observations, and testing results, and clearly communicate findings to team members and SMEs.
• Ability and desire to learn new techniques and best practices.
• Good interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• US Work Authorization is required at time of application; OPT not supported.
• Ability to report on site to New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities

• Digital collaboration: developing reusable Microsoft Loop / Teams templates, piloting meeting practices, and creating a meeting-to-artifact playbook and decision/action tracker; summarizing pilot feedback.
• AI adoption and enablement: collecting user feedback and priority use cases and developing a focused prompt starter pack; supporting AI tools and contributing to an adoption playbook reviewed by MW subject matter experts.
• Developing and refining prompts to support GenAI outputs using approved AI tools and documenting test results for review by MW subject matter experts.
• Working with MW Ops and cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes.
• Creating brief training materials or communications to support adoption of templates and prompt starter pack.
• Attending and actively participating in MW Ops and Innovation Project team meetings.
• Providing an end-of-internship summary presentation and handing over completed project deliverables, findings, and recommendations to the MW Ops team.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with GenAI tools and prompt development is required. Working during the internship will use Alexion-approved AI tools.
• Experience with Microsoft programs including Copilot, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Loop is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint are desirable.
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Ability to organize and analyze project information, user feedback, process observations, and testing results, and clearly communicate findings to team members and subject matter experts.
• Ability to conduct thorough and accurate research, have logical organizational skills, and clear, readable writing.
• Ability and desire to learn new techniques and best practices.
• Good interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.

• US Work Authorization isrequiredattimeof application.Applicants must have work authorization thatdoes not require future sponsorship.
• This role will not be granted OPT support.
• Ability to report on site to New Haven, CT.
• This role will not provide relocation assistance.
• Hourly rate: $48 per hour.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience creating training materials, documenting processes, supporting digital collaboration, or conducting structured testing or data analysis.
• Experience in clinical research or working with clinical regulatory documents is a plus, but not required.
