Job summary

Waymo LLC in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a hard-working intern for its Hardware Global Supply Management - Silicon & Electronic Components team. You will work on should-cost modeling, BOM analytics, and AI-driven automation as part of strategic supplier negotiations with engineering partners.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in BS or MS programs in related fields and comfortable with Python, Excel, and early-stage supplier workflows.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related technical fields.
• Understanding of semiconductor and electronic components fabrication, packaging, passive/discrete component lifecycles, and design fundamentals.
• Proficiency in AI and automation via prompting, Python scripting, agentic automation frameworks, and workspace automation.
• Strong experience with bottom-up should-cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and large-scale BOM/financial analytics in Excel/Sheets.

The Hardware Global Supply Management (GSM) - Silicon & Electronic Components team manages high-complexity, high-value commercial sourcing for custom Silicon (E.g. ASICs, SoCs, OSAT/packaging) and Electronic Components (E.g. Passives, Discretes, PCB, Analog/Mixed Signal, Microcontrollers). You will:

You have:

• Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related technical fields.

• Proficiency in AI and automation via prompting, Python scripting, agentic automation frameworks, and workspace automation.

We prefer:

• Strong ability to collaborate with engineering/architecture teams to drive commercial supplier negotiations and financial modeling for component selection processes.
• Prior experience building prototype/NPI pipelines with validation logging and human-in-the-loop review.
• Communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical tradeoffs into crisp executive summaries.
• Highly capable of navigating ambiguity and operating with independence in a fast-paced environment.

The expected hourly rate for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company's generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.

Hourly Bachelors Pay $60-$60 USD
