Job summary

Regeneron interns will support automation and reliability engineering efforts within IOps Facilities & IT, ensuring equipment and control systems run safely and reliably in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Projects include process automation improvements, evaluation of equipment, and documentation such as change controls. Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn are valued, with familiarity in PLCs or control systems beneficial.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation or control systems is helpful but not required.
• Must be enrolled in an academic program pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree and be returning to school the semester after the position.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, improve and maintain equipment and control systems used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Support process automation improvements (review control systems, write engineering design documents, technical evaluations and test plans aligned with GAMP 5).
• Assess critical equipment, maintenance/calibration schedules and spare parts/equipment rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot equipment in support of manufacturing operations.

Regeneron is currently seeking multiple 2027 Interns in the Automation and Reliability Engineering teams of Regeneron Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) Facilities & IT department. These groups keep the equipment and control systems used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing running safely and reliably.

When & Where

Location: Rensselaer / Troy, NY

Timeframe: Our internship positions are full-time and onsite from May/June-August

Pay: Intern and Co‑op pay ranges are determined by level of education (year in school) and degree program. The hourly rate range for these locations is: $17.90‑$25.50 per hour.

What You'll Do

Every medicine Regeneron makes depends on equipment and control systems that run reliably and safely. These teams design, improve, and maintain those systems.

Projects include supporting process automation improvements (such as reviewing control systems and writing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans aligned with GAMP 5), assessing how critical equipment is and how often it should be maintained or calibrated, evaluating spare parts and equipment rebuilds, and working with equipment vendors.

You'll learn how engineering work is documented and controlled in a regulated manufacturing environment (for example, through change control), and you may help troubleshoot equipment in support of manufacturing operations.

Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation, or control systems is helpful but not required; technical aptitude and a willingness to learn matter more. Expect to follow safety, quality, and gowning requirements in manufacturing areas.
