TKDA invites a driven undergraduate or graduate architecture student to join our team as an Architecture Intern for summer 2027. You will work within a multidisciplined design and engineering group on projects for Class I Railroads and Mass Transit organizations nationwide from schematic design through construction.
You will develop schematic designs, edit specifications, and prepare construction documents while leveraging AutoCAD and Revit.
Are you an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in architecture or a graduate student pursuing a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree? Are you looking for a hands-on learning experience where you can apply your classroom knowledge and contribute to real world projects? If so, then consider joining our team as an intern in 2027!
As a member of our team, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of highly talented and innovative design and engineering professionals. From schematic design through construction, you will become engaged in the full life cycle of a variety of new or renovated facilities projects for Class I Railroads and Mass Transit organizations throughout the country.
As an Architecture Intern, you will assist with developing schematic designs, assisting with specification preparation and edits, and preparing construction documentation. Throughout your internship, you will utilize your AutoCAD and Revit skills, be exposed the ins and outs of what it takes to bring a project together, and what needs to be done throughout the lifecycle of the project from schematic design to construction. Since many of our projects are multi-disciplined, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural engineering professionals, which means you will develop a well-rounded understanding of how each discipline supports and depends on one another to make a project successful.
The ideal candidate would be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2027 from Tuesday, May 25 through Friday, August 13. This position would primarily work from our office in Downers Grove, IL.
$20 - $24 an hour
Final rate of compensation will be dependent upon your anticipated graduation date.
