Plante Moran is seeking a healthcare consulting intern to support operations improvement projects for health systems. You will contribute to process redesign, data analysis, and market research while building professional relationships with clients.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, exposure to value-based care engagement models, and collaboration with experienced consultants in a principally in-person environment with flexible work considerations.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with problem solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare consulting.
  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
  • Staff members onsite at healthcare clients will need updated immunizations per client requirements.

Responsabilités

  • Work principally with the healthcare operations improvement team in developing and implementing operational and strategic process improvements with health systems.
  • Assist in workflow redesign of health system operations using CLEAR™ improvement methodology (Change Management, Six Sigma and Lean).
  • Assist in strategic modeling and deployment of resources across the value-based care continuum for health system readiness for value-based and alternative managed care models.
  • Apply data analysis to evaluate trends and anomalies in client operations.
  • Research market trends and report findings in support of client engagements.
  • Develop relationships with clients and demonstrate professionalism and dedication to clients.
  • Interact with staff at all levels and with a wide range of clients.

Your role.

No busy work here. As an intern, you’ll be treated just like our entry level staff. You’ll help instill confidence in organizations large and small by assuring their financial health. We’ll give you the flexibility to craft healthcare operational and business solutions, not just spreadsheets. Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work principally with the healthcare operations improvement team in developing and implementing operational and strategic process improvements with health systems.
  • Assist in the workflow redesign of health system operations using our proprietary CLEAR™ improvement methodology. CLEAR™ combines Change Management, Six Sigma and Lean tools to create meaningful process changes that drive sustainable improvement.
  • Assist in the strategic modeling, design and deployment of resources across the value based care continuum in support of health system readiness for value based and alternative managed care payment models.
  • Apply skills in data analysis to evaluate trends and anomalies in client operations.
  • Research market trends and reporting on findings in support of client engagements.
  • Developing relationships with clients, demonstrate professionalism and dedication to clients.
  • Meaningful interactions with staff at all levels as well as with our impressive repertoire of clients.

This is a non-exempt position and may require work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week. This position may require some local, national, and occasional international travel.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is: $33.00 - $36.00
