Job summary

Plante Moran seeks an intern to work with public sector clients across cities, counties, states, utility districts, and school districts to develop innovation roadmaps and harness technology.

You’ll assist with process assessment, research, and implementing enterprise technology solutions (ERP, EAM, CIS, SIS), gaining exposure to client engagements and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in finance, information technology, engineering, or related field.
  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
  • Information Technology (IT) and/or engineering knowledge/experience is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools and effective prompting techniques to support research, analysis, content development, and problem solving is a plus.
  • Some experience with selecting and/or implementing enterprise technology solutions (ERP, EAM, CIS, SIS, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in process assessment, improvement, and redesign for public sector engagements.
  • Assist with research, special analyses requested by Managers/Partners, and project handling.
  • Support advanced technology research and thought leadership development.
  • Assist clients with selecting and/or implementing enterprise technology solutions (ERP, EAM, CIS, SIS, etc.).
  • Develop relationships with clients and participate in networking/business development activities.
  • Travel to client sites to support vendor software demonstrations and implementation management.
  • Participate in firm professional development activities.

Your role.

No busy work here. As an intern, you'll be treated just like our entry-level staff. You’ll safeguard public sector organizations to optimize and prepare for technology investments. You can look forward to a variety of engagements with cities, counties, states, utility districts, and school districts. These engagements will provide you with the opportunity to interact directly with public sector clients to develop innovation roadmaps and harness the power of technology. Your experience will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Process assessment, improvement, and redesign
  • Handling or creating projects (assisting with research, special analysis requested by Managers, Partners, etc.)
  • Advanced technology research and assistance with thought leadership development
  • Assist clients with selecting and/or implementing enterprise technology solutions (ERP, EAM, CIS, SIS, etc.)
  • Developing relationships with clients and participating in networking/business development activities
  • Traveling to client sites to support vendor software demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, and implementation management efforts
  • Engaging in firm professional development activities
The qualifications.

This is a non‑exempt position and may require work hours that exceed the standard 40‑hour work week. This position may require some local, national, and occasional international travel.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market‑based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry‑level talent.
