Job summary

UPS is offering an Industrial Engineering Intern position in Charlotte, North Carolina. This internship combines hands-on project work with observation, data collection, cross-functional communication, and problem solving to support operational efficiency and engineering initiatives.

An intern will work on projects such as work measurement, cost-benefit analysis, process improvement, and operational planning, with exposure to AI, automation, and data analytics tools.

An Industrial Engineering Intern at UPS works on targeted projects individually, or in small teams. Projects require operational observations, data collection, cross functional communication, and problem solving. All completed projects will be presented to the Industrial Engineering staff upon completion.

• Work Measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD)
• Cost benefit analysis
• Process improvement analysis
• Operational planning
• Exploring and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and data analytics tools to improve operational efficiency and support engineering initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
• Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions
• Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the internship or willing to relocate yourself
• Current student enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or recent graduate from a degreed college/university program within the past 24 months
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week.
