Job summary

MKS is seeking a Technical Marketing Co-op to partner with the Components group to refresh technical content for the Optomech product line. You will support content management, product setup, and tradeshow preparation while learning from Product Management, Marketing, the Web Team, Sales and Engineering.

Ideal candidates are undergrad students in engineering or physics fields, with strong communication and basic Office skills; SolidWorks is a plus, and on-site Irvine presence is required for

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior undergrad student.
• Student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics or related field(s).
• Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work or new assignments.
• Working knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Can work onsite in Irvine office when necessary for particular tasks.
• Can work ~20-40 hours a week combination of at home and in Irvine office.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Update the technical information of the Optomech product line.
• Pull items out of stock for photos and videos; assist with content management tasks.
• Learn and use the web content management system; perform content management work.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Technical Marketing Co-op you will partner with the Components group to update the technical information of our Optomech product line. This role will take on tasks such as pull items out of stock for photos and videos, learn web content management system and perform content management work, help with product assembly set ups, help prepare content for tradeshows, compare/contrast MKS products vs competitors, testing and evaluation of products and other marketing related activities. You will work closely with Product Management, Marketing, the Web Team, Sales, Engineering and many others.

Requirements

• Junior or Senior undergrad student
• Student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics or related field(s)
• Experience with Solidworks is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of time
• Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to staff
• Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents
• Must have high manual dexterity
• Noise level in the work environment is usually average

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
