Job Description
2027 Spring Data Co-op TIMET Toronto, OHIO (Paid, with housing stipend)

*A minimum of a 3-month assignment.

Summary

As a Data Intern, you will play a key role in advancing our plant's Digital Transformation initiatives. Working closely with the Operations and Plant Excellence teams, you will help implement data-driven solutions that enhance our daily manufacturing processes. Your work will focus on critical areas such as Scheduling, Right First Time (RFT), and Yield improvement.

By supporting the Operations Research team, you will contribute to driving measurable improvements across SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People). This role offers hands-on experience in applying data analytics and process optimization in a real-world industrial setting, making a direct impact on plant performance and efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in the plant's Digital Transformation project by:
    • Training operators on the use of new technologies.
    • Updating and maintaining digital procedures.
    • Creating, updating, and maintaining code that extracts data and integrates it into different systems.
    • Analyzing data that can be used to improve plant processes.
    • Creating ad hoc analysis and dashboards for KPI monitoring.
  • Assist plant IT with daily tasks.
Competencies
  • Highly motivated, independent, attention to detail, big-picture thinker, innovative, communicator.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to effectively collaborate with other Analysts as well as non-technical personnel to move projects forward.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of basic data extraction concepts (i.e. SQL.)
  • Willingness to observe and learn manufacturing processes.
  • Use "design thinking" to solve operational challenges in a way that ensures adoption by operators and managers alike.
Education and Experience
  • Currently seeking degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
  • Desire for Analytics Domain experience.
