Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco offers a 10.5-week paid internship for college and graduate students. Interns will work closely with managers and teams in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Eligible applicants must be full-time students with graduation between December 2027 and June 2029, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and be available to work 40 hours per week in-office. Housing and transportation stipends are provided where applicable.

Business Analyst Intern at the SF Fed

Desired areas of study (but not limited to): Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Political Science, Public Policy, Risk Management

Business Analyst interns will use skills such as research, writing, data analysis, policy comprehension, and communication to work on business projects, solutions, and deliverables within their assigned group. Interns will gain experience, exposure, learn about a variety of business-related challenges that will help to build foundational knowledge for the future.

Teams hosting BUSINESS ANALYST INTERNS: Banking Supervision, Statistics + Reserves, Federal Reserve Financial Services, Financial Management, Operations & Safety, and Regional Engagement.

Program Eligibility

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency

• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the full duration of the 10.5-week internship
• Ability to work 5 days per week in-office

Salary range for internship roles (based on position/experience/location): $21.00 - $36.00/hourly
