Job summary

Select Sires, Inc. in Plain City, Ohio, seeks a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern for a temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt role at our Plain City facility. The intern reports to the Sr.

Vice-President of Genetic Programs and Research and will support both sire and marketing teams with data prep and cattle preparation for photography. Duties include a project on bull development or potential marketing capabilities, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
• Assist the sire department with gathering information and maintaining data to prepare bulls for their marketing career.
• Assist the marketing department with preparing cattle for photography, including selecting, clipping, grooming, and fitting cattle.
• Carry out a project to provide insight about bull development or a bull’s future marketing capabilities.

Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern. This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Sr. Vice-President of Genetic Programs and Research, Chuck Sattler.

Specific duties and responsibilities of a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern include, but are not limited to,

• Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.

A Dairy Sire Marketing Intern's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:

• Reliable means of transportation to report to work on time

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:

• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees and genetic evaluations

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Enrollment in a post-secondary dairy science, animal science, agricultural business or other related area of study

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:

• Experience clipping dairy cattle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:

• Seldomly (0-1 hours) floor lift (0-17"), knee lift (18" -29"), waist lift (30" -36"), chest lift (37" -60"), overhead lift (>60"), push/pull or carry up to 20 lbs.
• Seldomly (0-1 hours) climb stairs, squat/kneel, crawl, twist or bend/stoop
• Constantly (6-8 hours) sit or stand/walk
