Job summary

JBS USA in Florida is offering a 10-week summer internship designed to identify operational gaps and improve process efficiency across our live production facilities. You will gain hands-on insight into the production chain from hatchery to feed mills and live haul, with projects that impact real business outcomes.

During the program you will shadow team members, learn egg handling, broiler and breeder operations, and receive mentorship from company leaders.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a four-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

  • Will provide support to the live Operations Team.
  • Shadowing within the Hatchery: Understanding proper egg handling procedures, vaccinations, transferring, and chick handling.
  • Broilers: Witnessing communication with growers and shadow broiler techs to get a good understanding of their day to day.
  • Breeders: Shadow working hands with pullet crews. Get firsthand experience in servicing, vaccinations, and weighing.
  • Feed Mills: Tour the feed mill and see the entire process. Understanding the different types of feed and testing procedures.
  • Observe the Live Haul process overall and help unload trucks.
  • Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department.

  • Observe the Live Haul process overall and help unload trucks.

  • Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation:



  • $22/hour with $2,500 relocation stipend
