Job summary

JBS USA in United States is offering a 10-week summer internship in Human Resources to identify operational gaps and improve process efficiency across departments. You will gain exposure to Hiring, On-Boarding, Orientation, EEOC, Recruitment, Training, Payroll and more while exploring a career path within the global food supply chain.

You will work with a mentor, participate in leadership training, and complete a project addressing HR issues.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Will provide support to the HR department.
• Learn all departments of Human Resources including: Hiring, On-Boarding, Orientation, EEOC, Recruitment, Community Relations, Investigations, Training & Development, Technical Training, Talent Development, Payroll, Policy Enforcement, etc.
• Brainstorm ideas to improve programs which could potentially focus on recruitment, retention, recognition, policy enforcement, etc.
• Learn/observe the relationship and dynamics with the Local Union, if applicable
• Shadow investigations which could result in discipline and/or termination
• Understand absenteeism and turnover metrics and how they are measured
• Understand Staffing and Crewing, including Available to Standard
• Work with Operations to ensure policies are adhered to
• Gain insight on how the entire operations is impacted by each other
• Assist in coordinating and implementing engagement surveys with the workforce
• Be exposed to Performance Management: evaluations, promotions, merit, etc.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the HR department

• Assist in coordinating and implementing engagement surveys with the workforce and co-workers of the facility
• Be exposed to Performance Management: evaluations, promotions, merit, etc.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the HR department

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation:

• $22/hour with $2,500 relocation stipend if applicable.
