Northrop Grumman is seeking Systems Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Roy, UT.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

The Mission Engineer is a member of the Flight Systems Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (FS MS&A) team responsible for vehicle performance and flight assessment.

This may include executing trajectory simulation tools, both in 3 and 6 degrees of freedom, analyzing the results of those simulations, developing algorithms for missile targeting software, implementing numerical methods, as well as other missile models.

Trajectory simulations support, but are not limited to, payload to range, post boost vehicle maneuverability, weapon system effectiveness, accuracy, vehicle environment characterization, and flight test predictions. Missile targeting software generates trajectory profiles to be used when carrying out the mission.

Basic Qualifications A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
• Current active Secret Security Clearance or higher

Intern Pay Range for Roy, UT: Bachelor’s: $23.00 to $29.00 per hour Master’s: $32.75- $35.50 per hour
