Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Engineering interns for the Space sector in Chandler, AZ. The selected candidate will join the Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team to support hands-on design, analysis, and integration activities during summer 2027.

This internship is full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks, and eligibility requires full-time student status in an accredited ME or AE program, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree and will be enrolled in Fall 2027.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space sector in Chandler, AZ. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team.

Basic Qualifications

• A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027
• Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

Intern Pay Range

• Bachelor’s: $18.50 to $33.50 per hour
• Master’s: $26.25 to $41.50 per hour
